And the winner is...

Well, a whole lot of you signed up for the contest, but, just like in the Highlander, "there can be only one". In this case, "the one" is Susannah from Litchfield County, CT.

Congratulations Susannah! Here's what she wrote, and why I chose her:

I am a woman around 60 who wants to have an easy comfortable dinner with a gent I might meet - just a meal to enjoy while getting acquainted.

As a working woman I would like to have an easy oven type meal with only a bit of stove top (which can be used as leftovers the following days as well), and some kind of light dessert. I know almost nothing about wines, but dry whites are my favorite.

You should choose me because many people my age are unfortunately not adventurous cooks - and most men that age are not adventurous eaters.

So I spent some time thinking up a meal that would be fairly easy, mostly in-the-oven, with a simple, refreshing dessert. Here goes, Susannah, and best of luck with getting acquainted with "a gent you might meet".

A Meal for Susannah
 · Oven Roasted Pork Tenderloin with White Wine and Onions
 · Baby Spinach with White Beans and Pancetta
 · Twice Cooked Potatoes
 · Iced Blackberries and Raspberries

Wine Suggestions
Susannah said she likes "dry whites" - my personal bias is towards reds, but here are a few whites that are dry and truly good with this meal:
 · Albino Armani Pinot Grigio (2001)
 · PlumpJack Reserve Chardonnay (2004)
 · La Casa dell'Orco Greco di Tufo (2000)
And here are some reds:
 · Frontier Red (2004)
 · Three Thieves Zinfandel (2002)
 · Indaba Merlot (2004)

And, as an added bonus, some behind-the-scenes photos of the meal can be seen here.
